Cape Hatteras, better known as North Carolina's "Outer Banks", stretches north to south across 3 islands - Bodie, Hatteras, and Ocracoke. The islands are linked by State Highway 12 - a narrow, paved road - and Hatteras Inlet ferry. The islands offer many natural and historical features. The highway passes through 8 villages that reflect the nearly 300-year-old history and culture of the Outer Banks. We hope that the information and links contained herein will be of help to you in planning your vacation. Have fun "EXPLORING THE OUTER BANKS"! | ![]() |
